KITCHEN CLEANER | $17hr

JOB SUMMARY

The Kitchen Steward/Heavy Duty Cleaner is responsible for cleaning kitchen equipment, floors and walls as well as assisting with cleaning dishes, glasses, and utensils as needed.

All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness and integrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote positive employee and guest relations by projecting a positive, courteous, helpful attitude
• Clean food preparation and production areas
• Clean all kitchen equipment including ovens, griddles/grills, broilers, deep fryers, coolers, etc.
• Wash, clean and mop floors in all kitchen areas
• Ensure proper removal of trash, grease and soiled linen from the various kitchen areas to the proper receptacles
• Check the maintenance of equipment and kitchen facility and report any damage or maintenance required to the Chef
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18
• Understanding of kitchen health and safety standards
• Maintain knowledge and proficiency to operate industrial kitchen equipment
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively
• Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly and push/pull up to 100lbs occasionally; stand, bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, twist, grasp; and exert well-paced mobility during entire shift
• Ability to properly and safely use industrial strength cleaning products
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
